Memorial Fund of Magnús Ólafsson 2016 Awarded by the Reykjavik City Museum to support the series “In my Backyard.”


American/Scandinavian Fellowship, 2005-2006 Photographic documentary study of farmers and their families in East Iceland during the geographic changes initiated by the construction of the Kárahnjúkar dam.

Skriðuklaustur, East Iceland, 2005 Created a series of self-portraits that reflected transition.

Menningarrað Austurlands Grant, 2003 Funded photo documentary and mail art project of farmers in East Iceland. The work culminated into a handmade artist´s book and a series of photographs that were exhibited locally.

Fulbright Fellowship, 1996 - 1997 The fellowship was used to document folk artists in the Tatra region of Poland.
